Nicole, Carl & Kieran (and one on the way!) :: Family Portraits

Last year we headed out to some favorite Philly spots together, and this time we changed it up a bit and got our nature on at Wissahickon Valley Park. This lovely, little known spot off Lincoln Drive is a favorite of Nicole and Carl's; they've hiked and rode bikes there for years.

Kieran has gotten so big! He was enthralled by the sights and sounds as we walked through the woods - and after spotting a little chipmunk - kept calling out "Where are you Chipmunkie?" over and over. He's so stinkin' cute.

The biggest update (drum roll, please) is that a new baby is on the way! I can't wait to meet the newest member of the family!

Susannah+Greg :: Expecting!

Does this adorable couple look familiar? You may recognize them from my website header - an image from their beautiful wedding a few years ago in Fire Island. Since then we've become good friends (they're also photographers!) and a few weeks ago they asked if I would photograph them with their baby-to-be. I was so flattered and excited!

I headed up to New York City on Sunday since the baby is due soon, and we walked around their neighborhood visiting spots they love. Susannah, by the way, was all smiles and no complaints. In fact, she was incredibly enthusiastic and raring to go for the shoot, climbing hills and stairways all over Harlem... She's a rockstar!

Those last shots are in their foyer and hallway - in their super cute abode. Congrats Susannah+Greg! I'm so excited for you guys and I can't wait to meet your beautiful baby when he or she arrives :)

Amy+Rick :: Expecting!

Amy's due with her third child next month so we went out on a sunny afternoon to capture some special moments with her and the boys. Nate and Ricky were well behaved and very excited about helping with the new addition to the family – plus they were super enthusiastic about taking some portraits too!

We explored Norristown Farm Park together, and did things boys love to do best: run, climb and explore. Amy was up for anything, including jumping shots – I totally see where the boys get their energy from!

Vicky+Gerry :: Expecting!

It's a brand new year - and pretty soon it will be a whole new world for Vicky and Gerry, who are expecting their first child in less than two months! Their amazing, brightly lit home was a total dream - and the perfect space for portraits.

I know it's totally cliché to say, but Vicky was totally glowing! Gerry did a fabulous job of keeping her smiling - and their giggling created really wonderful moments...

Vicky practices yoga and pilates so we went to her studio next. I was totally impressed - she's so strong and flexible and carrying a little baby; good motivation for me to get back into yoga!

Congrats you two - can't wait to meet your little girl!

Jenna+Jim :: Expecting!

With only five weeks left before her due date, Jenna looks absolutely radiant - and was incredibly energetic - at our portrait session with her husband Jim. We visited Ridley Creek State Park in the morning, and finished off at their lovely home. These two really have an amazing spark, you don't just see it, you feel it. And it's wonderful :)

This shoot was unique from others for me, since Jenna is a good friend and also a fellow photographer! It was so fun collaborating and experimenting with poses and light, and a real honor to be asked to capture such a special moment in their lives...

I'm so excited for them to become parents!
